Diabetes, Neuropathy, and Next Steps for Recovery

Diabetes is a struggle that many people face. It can be debilitating if not treated properly. Here at Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma, we understand that diabetes can cause neuropathy, and we want to help!

Diabetic neuropathy can develop over time, whether born with diabetes or discovered it later in life. This occurs when the nerves in your legs and feet are damaged due to high blood sugar levels. The nerves that can also be affected are the digestive system, heart, blood vessels, and urinary tract.

There are four main types of Diabetic Neuropathy:

Peripheral- blocks normal sensations in the arms and legs.

– Reduced ability to feel pain or temperature changes
– Tingling or burning sensation
– Sharp pains or cramps
– Loss of balance and coordination

Autonomic- regulating many different functions of the body.

– Frequent urinary tract infections or urinary retention or incontinence
– Constipation or uncontrolled diarrhea
– Slow stomach emptying (gastroparesis), causing nausea, vomiting, bloating, and loss of appetite
– Difficulty swallowing
– Changes in the way your eyes adjust from light to darkness
– Increased heart rate at rest

Radiculoplexus- a motor condition that affects the lumbar region of the body.

– Severe pain in your hips, thighs, or buttocks
– Weak and shrinking thigh muscles
– Difficulty rising from a sitting position
– Abdominal swelling

Mononeuropathy- sudden sever pain, anywhere in the body.

– Shin or foot
– Lower back or pelvis
– Front of the thigh
– Chest or abdomen

Here at Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma, we take a patient-centered multifaced approach to treating the symptoms caused by Dietetic Neuropathy. Our medical staff can recommend physical activities, balancing exercises, and other techniques to help control your diabetes.

Are you feeling that cold wind all the way down to your toes?

Winter can be the worst months for symptoms of neuropathy. I’m sure the achy-ness and pain can only lead you to think – “I can’t live like this any longer.”

And you shouldn’t have to!

Symptoms of Peripheral Neuropathy effect so many people just like you. Maybe you are dealing with diabetes, or an injury due to sports or other activities. Maybe it’s due to exposure to heavy metals or chemicals, an infection, autoimmune disorder, or simply a vitamin deficiency.

The symptoms you experience ultimately depend on the nerve(s) affected.

Sensory nerve neuropathy may cause:
• Tingling, numbness, and burning in the hands or feet
• Severe pain or inability to feel pain, pressure, temperature, or touch in the affected regions
• Loss of coordination
• The sensation that you’re wearing socks or gloves when you aren’t

Motor neuropathy may cause:
• Muscle weakness, cramping, or twitching
• Loss of muscle control
• Decreased dexterity

Autonomic neuropathy may cause:
• Abnormal blood pressure or heart rate
• Sexual dysfunction
• Digestive issues, such as feeling full after a few bites, bloating, diarrhea, and constipation

If you look at this list and see some common factors in your life, there is hope that you can feel like yourself again.

Rather than simply masking your pain with medication, our staff of qualified medical professionals at Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma treat the symptoms related to neuropathy at the source with Nerve Regenerating Therapy. This nonsurgical therapy combines injections of a Pharmaceutical Grade Nutrient Blend with electrical stimulation to provide significant relief from your symptoms in 87% of cases. One of our medical team members also works with you to better manage the underlying cause of your neuropathy.

Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma offers an FDA cleared system of electrical stimulation combined with a Pharmaceutical Grade Nutrient Blend for relief of chronic pain and in most cases, regrowth of healthy nerves. Other pain clinics might use pain medicines, lasers, chiropractic, light therapy, and vibration therapy; these alternate treatments only combat the symptoms of pain and do not encourage nerve regrowth. But at NTCO we do things differently and, therefore, see great results for our patients!

Nerve Regenerating Therapy has been the subject of multiple scientific research studies. 87% of patients experience a significant improvement in symptoms, if not complete relief. Additionally, research shows those who have pre and post skin biopsies have increased nerve fiber density and nerve rejuvenation.

And better yet – there are no side effects! Treatment is non-surgical and does not use any prescription oral medications. We treat the whole body with a wellness approach that will improve your overall health, not just chronic pain.

Every patient is different, and your treatment plan will be customized to your level of pain and extent of nerve damage. We place each patient on a 12-week program where the patient has 2 sessions a week for a total of 24 treatments. Each session lasts about 30-40 minutes and is administered in our clinic.

Most patients experience the beginnings of pain relief after the first 1-2 sessions, but it’s important to keep in mind that every patient is unique. ALL our patients report a reduction in pain on the pain scale, usually from 9 or 10 down to 1 or even 0.

Call Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma today to see if you are eligible to receive this state-of-the-art treatment. Our providers and staff want to see you LIVE PAIN FREE in 2023. You deserve to start this new year with hope. Click here to make an appointment.

You may notice that your neuropathy tends to flare during the holidays. You aren’t imagining that – it happens to a lot of people. There are several reasons why this can happen:

  • Your normal routine is interrupted, causing you to forget the healthy habits you have.
  • Your food intake has changed, and you are eating things that are less healthy and full of sugar.
  • You are not exercising like you were, which can affect blood flow to your nerves.
  • It is colder outside, restricting your blood vessels, and therefore blood flow to your limbs, causing pain.
  • You have an underlying medical condition that flares up, like Diabetes, due to suddenly eating a lot of sweets and carbs.

All these things all at once can de-rail the work you have done to stay healthy the rest of the year. But it doesn’t have to be like this.

Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma would love to partner with you to help keep you on track, so you don’t deal with increased pain during those times of year that are supposed to be joyous.

Our medical staff takes a patient-centered, multifaceted approach to treating the symptoms related to neuropathy. They may recommend increasing your physical activity, physical therapy focused on restoring balance, and techniques for getting back to a PAIN FREE LIFE.

To address the pain and nerve dysfunction associated with neuropathy, our team often recommends Nerve Regenerating Therapy. This highly effective treatment uses a Pharmaceutical Grade Nutrient Blend and gentle nerve regenerating therapy applied to the affected region to significantly reduce symptoms in 87% of patients who undergo the therapy.

You can expect only the finest care from our clinic. During your initial appointment we will take a full medical history, review the lab test results and provide you with an overview of our treatment plan, and answer any questions you may have about Nerve Regenerating Therapy. If you qualify as a candidate for our program, our specialists will customize a treatment plan based on the extent of the nerve damage in your body and your level of pain.

BE PAIN FREE FOR YOUR FAMILY and get help with your symptoms of neuropathy today. Call 918-921-8160 and start your new way of life!

Weather can dampen or elevate our mood pretty quickly. Those rainy days can make you want to curl up on the couch all day, and sunshine pushes you to go outside and lay on the grass. Cold weather can bring out the worst pain in those dealing with symptoms of neuropathy. Unfortunately, the pain cold and pain can last for several months.

When your body is colder, your blood vessels constrict, making it harder for blood to get to the nerves in your hands and feet. The result is increased pain. This can make even the simplest things so much more challenging. No one wants to live with chronic pain, especially during the holiday season when there are lots of things to be done and events to attend. It’s harder for our bodies to measure the effects of the cold when we already feel numbness and tingling regularly. Our body’s “alert system” is just not working properly to tell us that something could be wrong.

If you are living with chronic pain due to symptoms of neuropathy, call today and schedule a consultation. Our dream is for you to celebrate the season with much less pain than before. We understand what you are going through and want to help you enjoy prepping that Thanksgiving meal, and not have to take pain reducing medication to endure it.

We don’t use steroids or prescription medications, so you don’t have to worry about side effects. Don’t let this fall and winter take away your freedom because of pain. If you start treatment now, you will begin to feel relief before the real cold weather begins. Call 918-921-8160 to schedule.

Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma can help you LIVE PAIN FREE FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Start your new life today!

An unfortunate reality with medication and medical treatments is that it can cause side effects that can be very debilitating. Chemotherapy is no different – in order to kill the bad cells, some good cells are sacrificed along the way. Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is very real and can cause severe pain. It can last for just a few weeks or continue for years after chemo is done.

Thankfully, not all chemotherapy treatments cause this side effect, but many times, a diagnosis determines which chemo you receive and there are no other options. It’s definitely a question you should ask when making decisions regarding treatment for cancer. You don’t want your chemo treatments to cause other problems that stay with you for years after you thought you’d be free.

Besides chemotherapy, there are other medications that treat a variety of health issues that can also cause symptoms of neuropathy. Medication used to treat heart or blood pressure issues, some drugs used to fight infections, some for autoimmune disease, seizures, anti-alcohol drugs, those to fight HIV/AIDS, plus a treatment for gout can all have the terrible side effect of symptoms of neuropathy, after the fact. The good news is that these symptoms are treatable – you don’t have to live with this side effect for the rest of your life. And Nerve Regenerating Therapy won’t cause even more side effects to battle, but instead it will reduce or even eliminate your symptoms.

Treatment for symptoms of neuropathy is non-surgical, does not use any prescription oral medications, and is essentially pain free. Our goal at Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma is to encourage healthy regrowth of nerves and not just treat the symptoms of your pain. We look at your medical history, reflexes, and test for nerve fiber damage to discern whether our treatment is right for you. Your story is unique, and we will get to the bottom of what you are experiencing to give you the best treatment possible.

Don’t let pain stop you from living your best life!

Symptoms of neuropathy cause problems for so many individuals. It’s so hard to function in a normal way when you are constantly in pain or dealing with numbness. There is a way to beat it, though! Treatment from Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma can help reduce pain and numbness and help get you back to doing those things you miss. But lifestyle choices are also a big component to regaining that function. Treatment alone can only do so much. Getting to a healthy body weight can reduce symptoms greatly – what you put in your body and your level of activity can add so much to the overall success of treatment.

Here at NTCO, we not only give you treatment that reduces pain from symptoms of neuropathy but also help develop a plan for weight loss and nutrition to keep neuropathy at bay for good. Developing these new systems into habits can be the key to long-term success at beating neuropathy. For those suffering with diabetic neuropathy symptoms, this is especially the case. Extra body weight puts stress on the circulatory and nervous systems. Weight loss can slow and sometimes halt the reduction in nerve fiber density, the key component causing pain symptoms.

Having a team behind you to help not only keep you on track with your goals but also to cheer you on in your successes can be a great asset to getting your body to the right place for optimal healing to take place. Call 918-921-8160 to schedule a consultation. Have a plan to regain control of your future. You deserve to live your best life – YOU CAN AGAIN with treatment at Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma.

Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma is not your typical doctor’s office. Patients actually enjoy coming because our staff is welcoming and friendly, plus there is just a sense of comradery and true care for their patients. Each person is unique and has a special story to tell about their life and goals. NTCO would like to partner with you to help you achieve the life you hope to live, whether you are 48 or 78 – there is still a way to get back to living.

Our neurologist uses an FDA approved electric stimulation system, a state-of-the-art device that delivers effective electric stimulation to a targeted area. When combined with local anesthetics, the result is effective relief of pain. Nerve Regenerating Therapy is well-tolerated by most patients, takes minutes to perform, is essentially painless other than a slight pinch with the injection, and offers significant relief to 87% of patients who undergo the therapy.

More specifically, when our medical staff performs NRT, they inject a Pharmaceutical Grade Nutrient Blend into the target region, followed by treatment with an electrical stimulation device. The machine combines (and simultaneously delivers) amplitude-modulated (AM) and frequency-modulated (FM) electric cell currents in pulsed electromagnetic fields (EMFs).

NRT treatment helps enhance the healing process by:

  • Increasing available oxygen and blood flow
  • Boosting second messenger molecules responsible for regenerative tissue effects
  • Promoting anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects

Here at NTCO, we will not prescribe you narcotics or steroids to relieve pain. Instead, we will treat your symptoms by eliminating the source of the pain, which takes a whole-body approach to health. If you are sick and tired of being in pain, come check out what we have to offer at NTCO. There’s nothing to lose! See if we have the answer to your problems – relief for your chronic pain – so you can BEAT NEUROPATHY.

Mental and physical health can be almost like the chicken or the egg, which comes first? They are so interrelated that it’s hard to tell if the physical challenge worsens the mental state or the mental state furthers the physical challenge. Are you in so much pain that you have trouble doing anything, or does your poor outlook on life cause you to stay in bed and not do the exercises needed to stop the pain? Either way, how do you break that cycle?

HOPE

Even just a small sliver of hope can propel someone to do something out of the ordinary – push you out of the mundane. Chronic pain due to symptoms of Neuropathy can easily take us to a place of depression. It might be because you can’t do your favorite activity anymore. You might be using a cane or wheelchair to get around and things are just harder to do, so why try? Or your friends are off on vacations you can’t imagine being able to do with how you are feeling. The spiral downward can feel unending.

Doctor after doctor might have told you that the only thing you can do to combat the pain is with surgery or narcotics. But that is not true. Nerve Regenerating Therapy (NRT) at Neuropathy Treatment Clinic of Oklahoma WORKS! We use a nonsurgical therapy that combines injections with a Pharmaceutical Grade Nutrient Blend with electrical cell signaling. 87% of patients feel significant relief from pain associated with symptoms of neuropathy. Plus, there are no side effects! NRT helps enhance the healing process by increasing available oxygen and blood flow, boosting second messenger molecules responsible for regenerating tissue, and promoting anti-inflammatory responses.

Hope for your future starts today when you call NTCO at 918-921-8160. Let us help you battle chronic pain so you can live the life you deserve again.
